During the planning phase for Jackie and Nathan’s engagement, I was looking at my notes and I was little surprised and excited. The culmination was going to be a James Bond, romantic-Christmas-theme in Downtown Austin.
At first glance it sounds like a really bad network Christmas special. Fortunately for everyone involved I’m a wedding photographer and not a cinema photographer!
We started with shooting at the red room bar in The W, which is absolutely stunning. I’ve been to The W a handful of times, but managed to miss this room in my previous visits. Major props to Jackie for knowing her location! Once we worked our way out of the hotel we headed to 2nd Street and onto the Congress Street bridge for a little skyline view. Then for a few brief moments we were blessed with some of the most amazing, gorgeous and dramatic late afternoon light. I’ve not seen light like this in a very long time, literally it lasted about eight minutes and it was gone. POOF! Once the sun set we made our way up Congress for some fun night time engagement shots and as good fortune would have it… one more Christmas tree as well!
