Happy wedding couple by an Airstream in AustinIt was the perfect December day to get married. Let’s be honest, it can go either way during the winter in Austin (side note, it feels wrong to call it winter when it’s sunny and 65!) Katy was ready for any kind of weather and having it at Heritage Haus helped a lot. From a photographers point of view, Heritage House is very well laid out for weddings. It has great spaces for shooting outdoors; it’s very scenic with a great area for an outdoor ceremony or reception. If you prefer something indoors, they have a quaint little white chapel with a good-sized reception hall and a neat little indoor/outdoor area with a comfy sofas and a fireplace. And because it’s Austin, they also have the quintessential groovy Airstream trailer! I had heard great things about Heritage House and they delivered. I asked Katy to give readers (all three of you, thanks mom!) a little insight into her wedding planning and here’s what she had to say:

After being engaged for almost a year (364 days to be exact), Tanner and I could not wait to tie the knot! When planning a wedding in December, there was no way to know what weather we were going to get! I knew God was smiling down on us when it turned out to be a perfect 65 degrees with the sun shining. Our special day turned out to be more amazing than we ever could have imagined, and we were so blessed to share it with our family and friends.

As a little girl, I never envisioned exactly what my wedding would look like, but I did know that I wanted the big, princess dress and for my dad to give me away. My dreams absolutely came true that day when I got to put on my gorgeous gown, and have my dad right by my side as I walked down the aisle to marry the love of my life. Tanner and I are so lucky to have so many talented friends and family members that helped to make our wedding so pretty. My cousin did all of our candle centerpieces, and our friends helped with so many other crafts, like designing our koozies and making our table numbers and seating chart! Of course we also had amazing vendors that worked so hard to make our day perfect! If we could do it all over again, we wouldn't change a thing! We are so thankful to have such amazing photographs of our big day, so we can always look back and reminisce about the happiest day of our lives :)

Special thank you to Maris for being the world’s most amazing make-up artist. Ever! And to Jake at MoonLit Weddings, for being a super talented cinematographer.
